David Paulussen, DMD

The image shows a man wearing a black shirt with a name tag, smiling at the camera, standing against a blue background.

Dr. David Paulussen grew up in Wayne, New Jersey. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and did so well academically that he "skipped" his senior year of college and was accepted early admission at The Universty of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Paulussen graduated UMDNJ in 1985 and worked in dental offices in Vernon and Ledgewood, NJ. In 1988 he opened this office with the help of his wife Janice, and mother, Marjorie, a registered nurse who helped answer the phone and assist patients. Gradually, the practice continued to grow and attract the wonderful staff members that we have today.

Dr. Paulussen is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. He attained his Mastership Status by first obtaining his fellowship degree, and then over 1,100 hours of continuing education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry. The Mastership Award is the highest honor available in the AGD and only three percent of the dentists in the AGD in the United States and Canada obtain it. By becoming a Master, Dr. Paulussen has made a commitment to offering his patients a better variety of diagnosis and treatment choices and he will continue to attend continuing education classes to maintain this edge on his professional excellence.

Dr. Paulussen routinely takes hundreds of hours of continuing education yearly. His dedication to the dental profession is not only fulfilling to himself, but he is also able to bring the most advanced and highest quality dentistry to his patients.

Dr. Paulussen maintains and is active in many professional associations. Some of the most notable include the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Academy of Operative Dentistry, Tri-County Dental Society (past president), R.V Tucker Cast Gold Club (past president), and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Paulussen is also a leader in a local Spear Study Club, which emphasizes clinical excellence and multi-disciplinary dentistry.

Dr. Paulussen enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife, Janice, and two children and grandson. He and his family love to enjoy the Jersey Shore at Beach Haven. Dr. Paulussen is an Eagle Scout which early on fostered his love of our Country and the outdoors. He has been to all fifty states and is currently trying to hike and experience every one of our National parks. He also enjoys woodworking, home projects, and bicycling.
